Our products are marketed under the brand name Birlacril™, which include high quality dyed and raw white tow, top and fibre for various end-uses such as sweaters, blankets, carpets, soft toys and awnings. With over 30 different varieties of acrylic fibre, we serve both the commodity and the specialty high-end markets. Our products enjoy worldwide recognition. The products are sold in more than 40 countries covering all continents. The final products made with our fibres are marketed by a number of prestigious global brands in Europe and America.

Our legacy
The Aditya Birla Group forayed into the acrylic business with the setting up of Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. Ltd (TAF), Thailand in 1989. The products from TAF include high quality dyed and raw white tow, top and fibre for various end-uses such as sweaters, blankets, carpets, soft toys and awnings.
We have always been laser sharp in our quality control and innovation and driven by the compelling vision of becoming the world leaders in acrylic fibre production. With access to world-class facilities, cutting-edge technology and ably supported by our state-of-the-art R&D centre in our plant in Saraburi, Thailand, with a current capacity of 120,000 tonnes per year, we are one of the key players in acrylic fibres.

Our Facilities
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
To stay updated on the latest technologies and also to develop products, we have a state-of-theart Research & Development Centre that undertakes basic and applied research. This facility is equipped with a pilot polymerisation and fibre extrusion facility, supported by a modern analytical testing laboratory. This is a unique facility that gives us the capability to scale up the polymer and fibre developments from lab-scale to the main-line production in stages. Additionally, the Centre has a facility of high pressure polymerisation reaction and Computational Fluid Dynamics for advanced simulation of the processes & products. The infrastructure facilitates new product and process developments in a cost effective way. As a result we have developed superior Texlan technology.
APPLICATION & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
The Application Development Centre (ADC) is a state-of-the-art setup to study developments in fibre spinning with cotton, modified cotton and worsted systems.
It is equipped with the full range of spinning machines which include blow room, carding, ring frames, auto-coner, open-end spinning and also has flat knit and circular knitting machines.
The Centre helps to conduct studies on optimisation and benchmarking of different products and processes. The Centre facilitates developments of new fibre blends for a range of concept garments and applications in tune with the market demand and fashion, thus reducing the development time for our partners. A team of highly qualified professionals run the R&D and ADC.

The attainment of ISO 9002 certification way back in 1994 was just the first proof of the company’s ceaseless commitment to quality standards and over the years our efforts have been widely recognised and awarded.
In addition, our Quality Circles represented Thailand at the International Quality Circle Symposium for the last four years and we have been placed 2nd in the list of Quality Circle Award winners in the year 2001.
