Transcending the conventional boundaries of business, the Aditya Birla Group is actively engaged in meaningful welfare driven initiatives. These make a qualitative difference to the lives of the weaker sections of society. The Group works in 3,000 villages. It reaches out to 7 million people annually through the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, which is spearheaded by Mrs. Rajashree Birla.
In line with our parent Company, we at Birlacril™ reach out to the underserved communities in our own small way.
OUR CSR VISION
To actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which we operate. In so doing, build a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker sections of society and raise the country’s human development index.
We believe in harmonious co-existence and the social values of the country in which we operate are very important factors in success of our business.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
1.Educational Projects.
Thai Acrylic Fibre is located in Kaengkhoi District where poor workers move their families from the north-eastern region to industrial surroundings. The kids follow their parents and study in schools at Kaengkhoi. School facilities and teaching materials are not enough and they need support from private sectors.
Birlacril™ works closely with schools near the plant through voluntarily teaching English to primary and secondary school students, donating computers to schools, repairing and re-constructing school buildings and community children day-care centre, providing scholarships to children, etc
2.Religious and Community Cultural Projects
Thailand is a Buddhist country. Ninety nine percent of the people surrounding our plant are Buddhists. The ways of life, community and cultural activities relate largely to Buddhism.
Birlacril™ regularly joins in all local, traditional and cultural activities – New Year celebrations, Makha Pooja, Visakha Pooja, and Asarha Pooja. We support the repair and renovation of temples, donate items for pooja and pay respect to Lord Buddha.
We also invite elderly people and senior leaders in our area to pray in our Birla Temple which spreads unity, joy and happiness.
